About the project

BEE was contracted by Starbucks to conduct full-scope LEED CI services for their two locations in Hefei and the Shanghai Expo, the very first LEED stores for Starbucks in Mainland China. Additionally, we worked closely with Starbucks to help them achieve LEED Platinum certification for Shanghai Roastery (second largest Roastery in the world) and LEED Gold certification for Milan Roastery. We are also helping the client pursue LEED certification for Tokyo Roastery (third in the world) and their new store in Kobe, Japan.

BEE was initially hired by Starbucks to implement training programs for their internal sustainability initiative for design and construction based on the LEED Volume Program (both v1.0 and v2.0). This relationship evolved into BEE managing the LEED certification process for Starbuck’s stores.

In addition to providing sustainable design and construction strategies, BEE incorporated the QLEAR Intelligent Building Management system to monitor the indoor air quality in real-time which improved the overall IAQ performance.
